Honda VFR400
Regarding the 400cc class, this must rate as one of the top 3 of my choices. Slightly on the heavy weight at around 165kg, it can reach speeds of up to 140 miles per hour. The standard motorcycle comes with an 112mph restrictor but shopping around will get you the bike de-restricted (ask Bennett’s for a start). Excellent paintwork, which seems to be the standard with Honda but as of late, not with the Kawasaki, and handles on an exceptional basis.
In a few words, if Bennett’s get one of these in, then get a heavy deposit on it. Michelin tyres seem to be the normal kit, but we are informed that Pirelli tyres offer more grip. The damping is a little light and the back-end suffers from the soft import suspension. Prices vary so ask Bennett’s for a rough guide. A sporty model well worth asking Bennett’s if they can find you one.(Review R. Warburton)
